5.3 Make consistent and comparable judgements
'Alex provided consistent and comparable judgements whilst successfully grading from A-E' (VHHS Report).
'His comments on students' final submissions were positive, affirming, supportive and accurate' (Gleeson Report).
'Alex used rubrics based on the Australian Curriculum to assess the students and his appreciation of grade levels was excellent' (Gleeson Report)
'His judgements on the individual capabilities of students was very accurate' (Gleeson Report).
Through my placements I was able to assess many pieces of student work and the feedback I received (as above) suggested I was able to make consistent and comparable judgements. During my studies I was required to complete an assessment task that require moderating assignments individually and then in a group. This demonstrated the importance of the moderation process but also the fragility of the process.
