'Alex's understanding of teaching strategies of the learning area of history were sound. I became an English and History teacher because I loved the subjects and had always achieved well in them during my secondary schooling. Combined with my university studies over four years I have developed a strong content knowledge in these areas. These teaching areas have a strong skills focus that I try to focus on during my teaching. It is vital to have the knowledge of these skills and how to best convey them and engage students in learning and practicing them.
