4.2 Manage classroom activities
'His behaviour management was sound, relying on interesting, well planned and engaging activities' (Gleeson Report).
At VHHS I had one particularly challenging class with a number of students that were not engaged in the entire education process. It was vital then to engage them in each individual lesson with interesting activities as they were not motivated at all by academic achievement.
At Gleeson, due to the number of NEP students, I often had several activities operating simultaneously and this required effective management. Equally when I allowed group work for assignments and other tasks during both my placements it required clear boundaries and effective management.
