During both my placements I tried to have very clear expectations of what I wanted from the students and what they needed to achieve by a certain date. By providing this information and planning to the students they could be very clear on what needed to be achieved and what they missed if they were absent for a lesson. I tried to set challenging goals for all students and that meant differentiating the goals for different abilities to make sure the advanced students were still challenged.
