'He taught the English Unit "Namberry" about a young aboriginal boy during the first years of european settlement with compassion, clarity and conviction' (Gleeson Report).
My placement experiences took me to a semi-rural DECD school and a metropolitan catholic school and allowed me to experience a large variety of students. At Gleeson College I was able to helpfully participate and contribute to Year 11 Religious Education several times a week and partake in the 3 day Year 11 Religious Retreat. At VHHS I came across a wide range of backgrounds that I was able to handle with sensitivity and professionalism. Having studied 'Education, culture and diversity' during my final year at university I have a good understanding of many of the challenges I will face as a teacher and how I can continue to support students in a meaningful and professional manner.
